Specifications
- The Roman Gladius was the primary weapon of the Roman Legionary and was used in conjunction with the 'Scutum' (shield) and 'Pilum' (spear). Its design was strongly influenced by the swords used by the Iberian (Spanish) Celts.
- This sword is hand-forged from a billet of high-carbon steel and has a diamond cross-section, meaning the blade is thicker in the middle and tapers to the edge.
- The hilt is constructed using Ash and Maple wooden parts. The double-edged blade has a full tang that extends through the hilt and is secured with a pommel button.
- Sword also includes a wood scabbard wrapped in black leather with steel accents at throat and tip.
- Overall Length 28", Blade Length - 19-1/2", Blade Width - 2", Blade Thickness - 3/16", Weight - 1lb/13oz, Grip Length - 3-1/2"
